Mandala
A mandala is a spiritual symbol in Buddhism and Hinduism. It’s a symbolic representation of the universe with an inner and outer world. Mandala means “circle”, as it is seen as a magical form, without beginning and end, just as the universe is believed to have no end. The mandala is used as an object to focus your attention on while meditating. Because of the symmetrical shape, your attention is directed to the centre.

Traditionally, they include the presence of Buddha’s mind in an abstract form, most commonly represented as a wheel, tree, flower, or jewel. The centre is a dot, which is a symbol considered free of dimensions. It is interpreted as the starting point, the beginning of contemplation, and devotion to the divine. From there, the dot is surrounded by lines and geometrical patterns that symbolize the universe, encompassed by the outer circle which represents the cyclical nature of life.
